Som.us is advancing its expansion into Latin America with the inclusion in its network of the Paraguayan reinsurance broker Walbaum, based in the capital Asunción.
Walbaum adds to Som.us its in-depth knowledge of the local risks of Property, Energy and Benefits in the Paraguayan insurance market where it has operated since 1995, during this time, it has placed reinsurance for more than 30 local insurance companies with the main reinsurance companies operating in the region.
A Walbaum slogan is that «since its founding, its reinsurers have paid all valid claims that have affected risks mediated by Walbaum» and «it has kept its E&O protections free of any claims.»
The Direction of the Paraguayan operation since its foundation has been in charge of Víctor Hugo Ribon, an insurance expert and broker with a track record of executive positions in insurance companies in Paraguay and Colombia, and of reinsurance brokerage in markets of Argentina, Paraguay and Chile, as well as in the Dominican Republic based in Miami. In his experience, he also has participation and direction in important projects of strategic associations with local insurance companies.
